Only when it’s gone
It is those small, those seemingly inconsequential, everyday comforts of life that we often only first become aware of when they’re gone.
Franziska Harnisch studied in Greifswald, Hildesheim, and Braunschweig, and is a master student (‘Meisterschülerin’ ) of Thomas Rentmeister. Her artistic practice encompasses and combines the fields of concept art, live, urban, and social art, as well as digital art and curatorial practices such as open calls. Harnisch’s works have been regularly exhibited by art societies (‘Kunstvereine’ ), project spaces, and festivals, including The Balcony (2019, NED), the 7th Online Performance Art Festival (2018), Kunstverein Hildesheim (2016), Kunsthalle am Hamburger Platz (2015), and the KuK Monschau (2014). In 2019 the artist has been awarded the EUCIDA Travel Award, a stipend from the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, and the Q21 Artist-in-Residence scholarship at the paraflows festival in Vienna.
Franziska Harnisch is a founding member of KUNSTRAUM 53 (Hildesheim) and ran the project space Vitrine01 (Berlin) from 2017 to 2019. She is a member of BBK Berlin and medienkunst e.V., and is currently artist in residence at 2 OG in the Alte Münze, Berlin.
