The festival focuses on the question: how can images make democratic attitudes visible – and how does communication succeed or fail? The dialog between artistic form and social statement is deliberately brought into the cityscape – where politics and everyday life meet. 29 international artists are exhibiting their work on large-format photo posters at 14 locations in Berlin, as well as in Basel and the Capital of Culture Chemnitz. The photo festival brings art to the public – where people are: in streets, district centers, libraries, project spaces and other freely accessible cultural venues.

Im Fokus des Festivals steht die Frage: wie können Bilder demokratische Haltung sichtbar machen – und wie gelingt oder woran zerbricht Kommunikation? Der Dialog zwischenkünstlerischer Form und gesellschaftlicher Aussage wird bewusst in das Stadtbild getragen – dorthin, wo sich Politik und Alltag begegnen. 29 internationale Künstler*innen stellen ihre Arbeiten auf großformatigen Fotoplakaten an 14 Orten in Berlin, sowie in Basel und der Kulturhauptstadt Chemnitz aus. Das Fotofestival bringt Kunst in die Öffentlichkeit – dorthin, wo die Menschen sind: in Straßen, Stadtteilzentren, Bibliotheken, Projekträumen und andere frei zugängliche Kulturorte.
