The Kick Boxing project features Cambodian kickboxer LyLy. The original footage of the young woman was taken in 2023 in a boxing studio in Phnom Penh, where Lyly has been training and teaching for years as the only woman. Carola Rümper was interested in the pose and posture of the kickboxer and not just the portrait of a single person. Through the digital processing to the avatar, a superior image in winning and fighting pose was created. The artistic design and presentation takes up the production process ’star cut‘ of the West German youth magazine BRAVO.

Carola Rümper lives and works as an artist and project space operator of mp43-projektraum for the peripheral in Berlin.

Das Projekt Kick Boxing zeigt die kambodschanische Kickboxerin LyLy. Die Originalaufnahmen der jungen Frau entstanden 2023 in einem Boxstudio in Phnom Penh, wo Lyly seit Jahren als einzige Frau trainiert und unterrichtet. Carola Rümper interessierte Pose und Haltung der Kickboxerin und nicht nur das Portrait einer einzelnen Person. Durch die digitale Bearbeitung zum Avatar ist ein übergeordnetes Abbild in Siegerinnen- und Kampfpose entstanden. Die künstlerische Gestaltung und Präsentation greift das Produktionsverfahren `Starschnitt´ der westdeutschen Jugendzeitschrift BRAVO auf.

Carola Rümper lebt und arbeitet als Künstlerin und Projektraumbetreiberin von mp43-projektraum für das periphere  in Berlin.
