Thomas Sydow, who began to create his own artistic universe as a self-taught artist 10 years ago, has produced a wealth of naturalistic studies and unique pieces with incredible dedication and intensity. In the beginning was the fascination for the expressions in nature and landscape. Inspired by such multiple colors and shapes, he developed his own painting technique (Sgraffito). In parallel, three-dimensional objects made of clay and porcelain were created.

On numerous journeys he got to know the beauty of nature, but also its fragility – for example in Australia the legendary Great Barrier Reef and the karstified, multicolored landscape structures of the Australian outback.

Thomas Sydow lives and works in Belgium.

Der Künstler Thomas Sydow führt uns in seiner Installation Deepwater in eine Unterwasserwelt bestehend aus abstrakten Bildflächen und naturalistischen Objekten.

Thomas Sydow, der als Autodidakt vor 10 Jahren begann sich sein eigenes künstlerisches Universum zu schaffen, hat mit unglaublicher Hinwendung und Intensität eine Fülle von naturalistischen Studien und Unikaten hergestellt. Am Anfang stand die Faszination für die Ausprägungen in Natur und Landschaft. Inspiriert von dergestalt multipler Farb- und Formgebung entwickelte er eine eigene Sgraffito-Maltechnik. Parallel entstanden dreidimensionale Objekte aus Ton und Porzellan.

Auf seinen zahlreichen Reisen hat er die Schönheit der Natur, aber auch ihre Zerbrechlichkeit kennengelernt – so in Australien das sagenhafte Great Barrier Reef und die verkarsteten, multikolorierten Landschaftsstrukturen des australischen Outbacks.

 Thomas Sydow lebt und arbeitet in Belgien.
