In 2026, the twentieth year since the founding of A TRANS, and with gratitude for what has been created and experienced, the overarching theme is A SistaBro-City.

Sista + Bro transform their circle of friends into a family, a chosen kinship, so to speak. This cool clique is the arena for negotiating matters. It’s about mutual understanding and respect, relationships and soulmates, closeness and trust, about complicity, alliances, and above all, about friendship that develops and can last a lifetime.

The installation BigSisnBro by Potsdam artist Karola Rückholz reflects on whom we choose as our supporters and how much support we find within ourselves. A unicorn and Pegasus, gazing from the clouds, seem to descend from the heavens into the depths of the subway. They look at us, and we, the viewers, look back up. In the ideal image of older siblings, they stand behind us, no matter what we do or what happens to us.

Karola Rückholz presents the magical unicorn and Pegasus, the creator of the source of creativity, in a place of transition and movement. Emerging, ambivalent feelings between hopelessness and despair are reflected, in order to ultimately open up paths within and for ourselves for the unbridled desire for the new and thus for change.

2026, im zwanzigsten Jahr seit Gründung von A TRANS und mit Dankbarkeit für das Erschaffene und Erlebte ist das übergeordnete Thema A SistaBro-City.

Sista + Bro machen den Freundeskreis zur Familie, zur Wahl-Verwandtschaft gewissermaßen. Die coole Clique ist das Feld für das Verhandeln der Dinge. Es geht um gegenseitiges Verständnis und Respekt, um Beziehungen und Seelenverwandschaft, um Nähe und Vertrauen, um Komplizenschaft, Allianzen und, vor allem, um Freundschaft, die sich entwickelt und ein Leben lang halten kann.

Die Installation BigSisnBro der Potsdamer Künstlerin Karola Rückholz reflektiert darüber, wen wir als unsere Unterstützer*innen wählen und wieviel Unterstützung wir in uns selbst finden.

Einhorn und Pegasus scheinen, aus den Wolken blickend, vom Himmel in die Tiefen der Untergrundbahn zu kommen. Sie schauen uns an und wir Betrachtenden blicken zurück. Im Idealbild großer Geschwister stehen sie stellvertretend hinter uns, egal was wir tun oder was uns widerfährt.

Karola Rückholz präsentiert das magische Einhorn und Pegasus, den Schöpfer der Quelle der Kreativität an einem Ort des Übergangs und der Bewegung. Aufkommende zwiespältige Gefühle zwischen Ausweglosigkeit und Hoffnung werden gespiegelt, um der ungebändigten Lust auf das Neue und damit der Veränderung letztlich in und für uns selbst Wege zu eröffnen.
