The starting point for the large-format, site-specific paintings is Hannah Arendt’s concept of “friendship in dark times” – as an attitude that makes the world habitable together. The painting becomes a space for resonance within the context of urban transitional zones. A snapshot of a collective forming unintentionally. The chain of relationships – sustained by glances, gestures, proximity, and anonymity – continues in the people who pass the platform daily.

Items left behind, such as a map of Berlin’s public transport network, banana peels, cigarettes, a key and a handkerchief, all made of ceramics, point to the fragility of everyday life.

The German-Hungarian artist Lilla von Puttkamer lives and works in Berlin. Her work is exhibited internationally in art institutions and museums and is represented in various public and private collections.

Der Ausgangspunkt für die großformatige, ortsspezifische Malerei ist Hannah Arendts Gedanke zur“Freundschaft in finsteren Zeiten“ – als Haltung, die Welt überhaupt gemeinsam bewohnbar zu machen. Das Bild wird zum Resonanzraum im Kontext urbaner Übergangszonen. Eine Zeitaufnahme eines Kollektivs, das sich ohne Absicht formt. Die Kette der Beziehungen – mitgetragen von Blicken, Gesten, Nähe und Anonymität – setzt sich in den Menschen fort, die täglich den Bahnsteig passieren.

Liegengelassene Gegenstände wie eine Karte der Berliner Liniennetze, Bananenschalen, Zigaretten, ein Schlüsssel und Taschentuch aus Keramik weisen auf die Fragilität des Alltags hin.

Die deutsch-ungarische Künstlerin Lilla von Puttkamer lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Ihr Werk wird international in Kunstinstitutionen und Museen gezeigt und ist in verschiedenen öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen vertreten.
